Atayeb – Reviewed:
Out of many options at Yas Viceroy we always wanted to try our Atayeb due to our Arabic food craving. Recent promotion of dining and night life Abu Dhabi has given us as greater opportunity to explore this ultra chic spot. Its stunning in ambiance and interior, boosting a huge terrace overlooking Formula One race track. With dim light this place has many attractive features. It serves Lebanese, Egyptian, Moroccan, Syrian, Arabian and Middle Eastern specialties.
Starters:
They really have Mega portions; their Hummus is nothing short of best we had so far in Abu Dhabi. Extremely fresh and aromatic with perfect consistency and taste. Under this promotion you get to choose one out of 4 options of starters, we taste sample Baba Ganoush as well and its indeed worth mentioning. Other than these classic mezzeh another amazing starter you must opt for is “ROAST PRAWNS & RUCOLA SALAD” where 2 jumbo & perfectly grilled prawns were resting on generous bed of green.
We love the minimal dressing of pomegranate involved with chunks of feta cheese. It’s a perfect balance of salt & sour with earthy essence.
Main Course:
Again you get to choose one out of 3. It’s a perfectly designed set menu with diverse options for all. Don’t worry if you are vegan as they have succulent morrocan speciality, yes non other than Vegetable cousous with chick peas and cherry tomato flavored with harissa. For seafood lovers they have in offer Samak Mishwi, char grilled fresh fillet of fish. Our choice was Atayeb Mixed grill, it’s Chef Khaled selection of Kebab halabi, shish tauok (one skewer each) & lamb chops(2 pieces).
Meat was tender and juicy and has all the essential spices, served hot with fresh bread and is well complimented with chilli, tahina & garlic sauces. Rucola salad & Zaatar infused roasted potato wedges were served on side. Fresh breads were served throughout the meal.
Dessert:
Ah, there comes the best part the unprecedented Alain Date soufflé tart. It’s very mystic and non oriental blend of dates soufflé with tart base. Hazelnut Ice cream was gently flowing on a warm and freshly baked tart and the pomegranate molasses (for a change I had it in dessert as I had always tasted them with cold mezzeh) which added to its outstanding taste.
What we Love about the meal & campaign? – VERDICT
- Good Value for Money, can’t believe I am having such a compact and filling meal in this amount.
- It’s absolutely diversified and many choices of cuisines are available.
- Restaurant showcased their cuisine with a unique and tailored menu specially designed for Restaurant Month, so we get to have many flavors.
- Carefully crafted menu by chefs who was eager to show off the culinary skills. Special mention to Chef Khaled at Yas Viceroy for treating us with amazing dishes & taste.
