Barbeque Nation- Heartiest live grill concept now in Dubai.

Barbeque Nation, the pioneer of the live grill idea in India, has opened their first international outlet in Al Barsha Dubai not long ago. In India it is very famous as a casual dining restaurant chain and gains its popularity on the same line here in Dubai becoming very popular in short time. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes in a complete Buffet with different items for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

Every table at Barbeque Nation has a center with grill entrenched to it. No hassle of rising from your booth and reaching for the queue to enjoy your grilled items. They will Barbeque in front of your eyes. Yes, you heard it right! We enjoyed live grill at our table. Firstly a friendly and co-operative staff asked about our requirements (veg or non-veg). He also explained live grill and unlimited format. It was food galore when our Live Grill run down started as below:

  • Tandoori Baghicha
  • BBQ Mushrooms  & Pineapple
  • Paneer Mirch Masala – was flavorful with Shashlik
  • Cajun Spiced Potatoes – was very ok-eish in taste
  • Chicken Peshawari Tangri – it was nice.
  • Mutton Boti’s
  • Mahe-Adrak ki Fish – This coastal barbequed Ginger tasted fish was a unique item I found here.
  • Burnt Garlic Prawn – I simply loved it.

.

There was a huge list of appetizers, but my main favorites were Punjabi Chicken Leg, Chicken Peshawari, Crispy Corn. Two of them brought to table fresh from the main griller. It’s the first time I’ve tried Crispy corn in this manner with off the cob seeds crunchy fried with chopped onion and spicy powder. I put down the I GIVE UP! Flag so soon, though the concept was an unlimited live grill. The quality of appetizers was up to the mark. The prawns were good in size, and meat overall was tender.  The best item in non-veg, in my opinion, was the crispy corns & Paneer.

Sauces served along with it are an addictive combo. Since the live barbeque keeps food, hot everything tastes fresh and good. However, after good 40 min, we started to feel the heat on faces from the inbuilt grill and staff was kind enough to put it off and served the grill item of platter after taking them off skewers. It’s also a good idea for slow eaters as you don’t want your food to over grill from one side while you didn’t remember to rotate the side facing the fire.

To satisfy my appetite for Orient palate, I also tried their live Mongolian Barbeque Station where I got the veggies done Mongolian style. For health conscious diners it’s an excellent choice too as you can always advise them on less or no oil usage at all. Just behind the same they have an active area for soup where you choose which items you want to add to the soup ranging from veggies to seafood. I got Mushrooms, Chicken, and Corn soup it was average. There’s also many drinks we tried different Mock-tails. Pomegranate Mojito tasted amazing!

Décor & Interior was modest, black and red hues are prominent.  To my astonishment, live music was going on for the entertainment but with English songs but the waiter explained that they have a variety to play and then we got top enjoy some Indian melody too. Also, they play bday tunes and live wishes for the guests celebrating their special moments and occasions with friends and family in the restaurant. Service was very very efficient I would like to highlight as the waiters were very attentive and treated us well. Management also contributes making sure to take good care of patrons by checking several times.

Getting to the main course after live Grill was a difficult call with this full brim stomach. But we could not resist the strong aroma and took a challenge to go around the rectangular shape serving the area. This food booth designed in a unique way to stage live counters at four corners. I tried Chicken and veg roll from one section and mixed noodles from the other. Mr. K was admiring how they had a variety of different food items and live stations to handle. Dal makhani, Zeera Aloo (potato) & Paneer Lababdar was good in taste. Assorted Naan & Steamed Rice was also available to enjoy with Dal and gravy items. There were three kinds of Biryanis but sadly they lack the fundamental spice level, and I’d recommend them to work a bit better on that as it was the only low point we had in the entire experience.

What comes to rescue this slight disappointment was the good looking desserts. They didn’t fail to impress us in this course too. The entire corner including different types of kulfis, crème Brulee, cakes, fruits salad, etc. was dedicated for this desiring part of the meal. Date & Gulqand Kulfi was my favorite being creamy and delicious. Cupcakes and Cheesecake were gone in no time as soon as they placed it there. I m telling you-you have to be a pro for hogging from those mini munchers; they were like flies around the nest.

With a convenient location and great hospitality, this place with Over-the-table Barbeque is worth trying with family and friends. Worth paying this price in return to quality and variety they offer. Mini inbuilt grill idea has captivated us in entire first half. Barbequed appetizers were best in the entire buffet. Enjoy your buffet, and for more pictures check my Instastories.
