The Popular seafood night concept Mercato by Sacci is still on every Wednesday at The Westin Abu Dhabi’s Sacci restaurant. Here is our story about it!
Westin Abudhabi invited us to Taste the authentic flavors of Italy, fresh from the pan. They hosted us at ‘Sacci’ restaurant for a unique interactive seafood night featuring fresh grill & pasta cooking stations, unlimited antipasti buffet, Italian cheese station, and live entertainment. Representing an outdoor Italian fresh seafood market, it allows you to choose from a variety of fresh catch on display to be prepared upon request.
From local fish to lobsters, from shellfish to scallops, all items were cooked or grilled by our preference. Mercato by Sacci will also feature an antipasti buffet filled with Italian favorites such as bruschetta, fried calamari, salads, and carpaccio. Most of the items presented on this spread were delicious and unique from another. No repetition in salads and bread, also 3 hot dishes were available, Polenta being my favorite. Meat & cheese ravioli was classic so is the pink sauce pasta customized for my daughter. Me and family enjoyed the warmth of homemade Italian food and deliciously seasonal curated menu at this venue with live entertainment.
I also enjoyed Black Ink Pasta as it was my first encounter with this dish, and it was divine. So the squid ink is mixed into the dough, so this homemade pasta at Sacci itself appears jet black. The chef prepares it by tossing in a tangy tomato sauce right in front of your eyes at the live station and mixed with seafood and veggies. You can choose your add ons. It looked super fancy and taste thoroughly delicious.
Seafood was grilled to perfection. It was amusing just to roam around choosing our choice content and order to prepare the way we like. This offer is inspired by new Markets on the Rialto & promised to bring the taste of Italy unlike ever before. Service was top-notch by the staff. Chef Sparagna ensured we get to taste the best for the seafood market plus the desserts awed us. For me, cheesecake & tiramisu were the winners while Crème Brulee impressed Mr. K the most.
VERDICT:
We did not merely taste true flavors of Italy, fresh seafood from the pan at ‘Mercato By Sacci’ but they also hosted an interactive dining experience with every detail including desserts & bread section very well crafted with a fantastic selection. Overall it was for an authentic family Seafood affair at Italian style Trattoria alike Sacci.
The restaurant impressed us with this extravaganza outdoor unlimited Italian fresh seafood market and great atmosphere; there’s no better place to be on a Wednesday night. Highlights of this seafood night for me were:
