Chino-Latino Friday Brunch by the Beach at Asia De Cuba:

Last Friday we enjoyed at Asia de Cuba on their terrace this time ! Foodies and Media Bloggers were invited to relish beachfront brunch experience that will surely be taking Abu Dhabi by storm. We also took pleasure in an afternoon of beautiful Abu Dhabi weather and some exquisite food.

Some WOW factors:

  • Do explore their “Make Your Own” Mojito, where you can see your drinks been prepared can also view the menu and ask any alteration if you may need. It’s summery and tropical feel & the same time you love seeing the whole process.
  • Then come the roastery box concept from Caja China grill and we entirely blown away by the mastery it does! That perfect roast taste comes after the whole process meat goes into. Great concept.
  • Groove to the live sounds of Sinco Pa Ti, a Cuban style five piece band with classical trumpet, They played old school Cuban classics & contemporary salsa dance beats and won admiring applaud from the crowd.

Planning to enjoy festive ambiance with asian-cuban flavors along with friends and family? Well make sure you book a cabana or an outdoor table. You will enjoy the colorful beach lounge and Sun. Light breeze & fresh food coming down to your table with surely brings you in mood along with homemade mojitos and will turn the day into pulsating Friday.

Food We tasted:

In cleanser we tried BUENA VISTA, a very refreshing yet light tropical mocktail with passion fruit, pineapple. Our next encounter was sharing style table throw for tapas.

Still being less acquainted with this Cuban cuisine I was thoroughly impressed by their tapas. PASTELITOS, sweet concoction, pastry structure, filled with cream cheese and guava purée. SWEET POTATO HUMMUS with plantain chips occupied important role on our table and served as great dip. SHRIMP CHURROS with sesame & coconut curry, CHICKEN CHICHARRONES with honey soy glaze and hubby’s fav WAGYU ‘ROPA VIEJA’ SPRING ROLLS. I personally love these 3 signature tapas from my very first encounter hence they din’t fail to impress me this time either. Wait there is a vegan option too and I would one but took over all non-veg tapas. Its appetizing BLACK BEAN & PLANTAIN EMPANADAS with garlic sweet & sour dip.

Their salad offering for the brunch set-up are so health, crunchy and dreamy at the same time. Colorful presentation and enriching flavor make the following 2 my favorite of the 3 salad offerings. RED QUINOA mixed with grilled vegetables, heirloom tomato, roasted corn, baby frisée, avocado, Chinese leeks, queso fresco, saffron yuzu vinaigrette. ‘ICY HOT’ SHRIMP sesame, watermelon, napa cabbag and how can I forget the unique touch of cucumber freshness.

Entrees come next and yet again fill up the whole table. Our favorites were the delectable Huevos Benedict prepared with shredded veal and a special hollandaise sauce. CUBAN STYLE’ BRIOCHE FRENCH TOAST with guava marmalade & almond mascarpone. BBQ prawns (we taste guava here too, no empowering taste though) it’s mild sweet and much tender.

Then come the main Caja China Grill Long platter! Homemade chicken sausages- It is so tasty that I could not stop myself but asking what goes into its preparation and got to know about kimchi & veal, lamb merguez, smoked adobo chicken, Asian veggie, beef bulgogi. ADOBO MARINATED WHOLE CHICKEN was so yummy. The marinade does all the heavy lifting there. Aroma of a browning, marinade-saturated chicken was driving us crazy. Beef Ribs and churrasco were grilled to perfection and still tender. BBQ flank beef taste good with Thai chimichurri – a homemade paste with parsley, ginger and garlic.

Their picture and taste perfect desserts finished off the meal with a charming touch. Presented with Fresh cuts of fruits in a tropical basket with raspberry coulis and Cheese Lollipops – refreshing. Thai coconut and lemongrass flan is there . We loved the honeydew and lemongrass amalgamation. Tres Leches de Chocolate, a spongy chocolate cake that always astonish us with the Szechuan peppercorn chocolate ice cream. This is on Mahi Blog list of ‘best desserts in town’

Keeping with its core Asia de Cuba retains the same authentic preparations, tropical accents, and sharing-style presentation loved by guests in Their Bruch by the beach too. Fresh ingredients, handcrafted dishes, and eye-catching interiors make for an unforgettable dining experience with surprising cultural flavours.

All in all it was great evening of high-end brunch. We indulge and relax by the beach while witnessing skyline of Abu dhabi. This unusual concepts along with delicious Cuban cuisine – the first of its kind in the capital – is sure to please even the most discerning brunchers. Thumbs up!
