So last Friday was glorious as we ‘Rise and Dine’ at one of our favorite Italian eatery @carlucciosme at Eastern Mangroves in Abu Dhabi.
We highly recommend because:
- On weekends we all prefer laid back, family brunch & this four-hour long brunch from 11 am to 3 pm on Friday and Saturday has an edge there.
- They nailed this first ever weekend brunch concept by putting in every effort to make it best. Thumbs up to the creative culinary team headed up by brand Chef Christo Nortier.
- You get a wide variety, selection of their signature dishes & apt. Taste in most competitive price in the capital starting at AED 175
- Carluccio’s Eastern Mangroves branch’s large outdoor terrace overlooking the corniche. Brunch with ambiance.
- It also includes a full breakfast menu of eggs, bacon, tomato croissants and mushroom omelets to kick start the day.
Eastern Mangroves Branch’s location is perfect. It’s a beautiful large space, and there is usually a selection of papers to read. Our server was quite attentive. For all these reasons we experience at this happy & friendly place, It became special. The smell of authentic Italian food PLUS mushrooms was the best way to start the weekend. I valued this time & brunch.
Now onto the actual food. Carluccio’s boasts a full breakfast menu Carluccio’s Breakfast Magnifica. It’s their take on the English breakfast is an excellent smattering of egg variety (the way you like) with mushrooms, beef bacon, beef sausage, fried bread and grilled tomato. It’s a full course within itself and works well with the traditional Carluccios offering of coffee. The only downside of having SUCH a favorite is that I don’t know what else to order! You can also avail a package of unlimited delicacies and drinks, served directly to the table a la carte style with starters including calamari fritters, arancini, and traditional hearty bruschetta. I Loved Mushroom Soup it not too creamy but has the whole essence of different types of mushrooms. Arancini was a great twist to those in love of crispy bites with a soft center; there tasted delicious with sauce on the side.
In Mains, we tried home-made spaghetti and meatballs; it was good to see their signature taste this time with different kind of pasta instead of fettuccine in the past. Chicken saltimbocca, A very healthy dish with buttery Chicken breast perfectly grilled.
Desserts see traditional treats of tiramisu, raspberry mousse, pannacotta, and lemon tart served family style on a platter on the table. The highlights though were that unbeatable chocolate brownie, What a perfect way to end this grazing brunch! I bet this mashed up meal will become your favorite soon. While we made our way out, we further graze through this lovely Italian deli and bought some chili oil. Good luck trying to stop yourself picking up treats for later!
Overall I would highly recommend Carluccio’s for the brunch menu. Their prices are reasonable for food that is definitely above average for a chain restaurant. The atmosphere is what makes this place extra special for me, so if you find yourself near Carluccio’s Eastern Mangroves Abudhabi around brunch time. Definitely, Go!
They rightly claimed.
“Benvenuto da Carluccio’s! We’re noisy about food. We taste it, try it, argue about it until it’s just right.”
