Located in the St. Regis beach club with spectacular panoramic views of Arabian Gulf, this stylish decorated venue CATCH is the perfect fusion of Asian and Japanese food. The ambiance was good. It was quite full with a lively seductive mix of contemporary music playing.
At Catch, fish is the star of the plate! They claim to use only the freshest seasonal ingredients to bring out the best flavors, with Asian and Middle Eastern influences and a touch of innovative gourmet flair. For those preferring meat instead of seafood, they also have some delicious dishes on offer to bring out the carnivore in you. I loved the banana chips & spicy Edamame served as a welcome treat. Also, the live demonstration of Wasabi dip extraction was the highlight of the day.
We sampled their signature mocktails which were perfect to whet our appetite. You can find the perfect drink to accompany your meal from their extensive beverage menu. Their drinks menu is incredible.
Salads:
We tasted Organic Quinoa Salad with Red Bell Pepper Coulis, Watermelon & Feta Cheese. It was so fresh, juicy and crunchy. I loved the enthralling presentation. The taste was mind blowing; the dressing was so unique and pleasant to taste buds.

Next came to the table was Burrata Cheese with Cherry Tomatoes. The quality of cheese was ideal with Extra Virgin Olive Oil & White Balsamic Glaze enhancing the look and taste of the dish.

Appetizers:
We ordered their signature Deep fried spicy prawns. These Butterflied King Prawn were delicious with Dried Chilli & Caramelized Cashew Nuts. It was a light and good starter.

Next up was the six pieces’ dim sum with Chilli Dipping Sauce as accompaniment. The platter consisted of Steamed Scallop Shumai, Prawn Hargao, Squid Ink & Dumpling. We got personally served by the chef who exceptionally took care of our taste buds. With his skills and modest attitude, he persuaded us to have Squid Ink for the first time which was very tasty.
We also tried Braised beef short ribs with Pomelo, Carrot Pickle & Sesame Seeds. It was a bit dry for my liking and was missing the WOW factor.

Seafood / Meat:
Catch signature; Mixed Sushi, Nigiri & Sashimi was presented by the Chef in lovely arrangements. I love the special attention given to the presentation with quality still intact; It is indeed high-quality sushi we tasted at Catch.

I would also firmly recommend their Blow Torch DYNAMITE ROLL – Deep Fried Salmon, Pickled Radish Roll, Creamy Crab and Tobiko, Teriyaki. All in all their sushi is bomb, if you try any option you won’t regret.

BBQ Corn fed baby chicken was served with Sautéed Snow Peas & Roasted Chicken Jus. There was enough quantity of sauce over my plate to finish off the entire chicken piece, this perfectly barbecued chicken was a perfect choice for someone would not opt for seafood option. For the ending of our meal, we enjoyed assorted desserts.
Verdict:
Catch had all the ingredients to dazzle me. The staff was attentive and polite. The overall ambiance is very chic and classy. The food was delicious; quantity is not huge but tastes wise amazing. The special thanks we would like to say to all staff, Chef & Restaurant Supervisor ‘Dushanke’. They looked after us during the whole evening, being friendly, intuitive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody.
