Hakkasan Afternoon Tea

We attended an exclusive preview of Afternoon Tea at Hakkasan Abu Dhabi. Afternoon Tea menu is now available from 3pm – 6pm daily throughout the course of the year (excluding Ramadan). The new menu showcases Hakkasan’s trademark tea menu, providing local residents and tourists with chance to sample an array of speciality Asian teas alongside a selection of desserts including their soon to-be popular Macarons and Chocolate marquise as well as the Chef’s signature dim sum.

Tranquility & cozy are the 2 words perfectly describes our Hakkasan experience. This world-renowned restaurant, offers a unique take on modern Chinese cuisine. In possession of instant glamour, Hakkasan combines opulent design, Asian contemporary ambience, ambitious cooking and accomplished service. When we first walked through the foyer and along the dimly lit-lit dark walled cabins I wasn’t quite sure if I was walking into that such spacious corner-chamber. Its been built so smartly to keep intact your privacy and fits for different sizes or group of people. The low lighting, contemporary oriental & jazz mix music playing pleasingly in the background and the elegant tall carved walls decor are all contributing to the chic stylish and passive experience we had in the restaurant. The evening started off with a warm welcome over coffee presenting by General Manager Mr. Ivano Guastella . I loved my Cappuccino & hubby enjoyed Latte.

It was great meeting Chef Lee Kok Hua who ran us through the menu, and gave tea introduction which later accompanied by a selection / assortment of dim sum and dessert with a choice of teas it is worth AED 98 per person. While we tried and were enjoying their Dragon’s well Green tea, from Sanshia, Taipei in Taiwan, these attractive round shaped stands arrived at the table been loaded with dessert and savory items.

In sweets they have seasonal assorted macarons, strawberry and mango , pineapple & kiwi fruit tarts. To keep pace along with tradition cakes along with afternoon tea they have vanilla cheese cake with cream curd and raspberry sauce. Kids favorite was Chocolate marquise with black berry & buttercream and it has gold leaf on top. Those nutty and crunchy dry fruits and coconut balls with condense milk fill those side spot in upper dome and were very yummy.

We loved the dim sum range consist of Crispy box dumpling with  pumpkin, yam bean, vegetarian ham, king oyster mushroom, golden sesame. It is crunchy and tasty. They we tasted Chicken taro coquette filled with chicken, taro root, turnip, shrimp, shallots, garlic. These yummy bite size treats were also prepared with full care and attention. Three yummy sauces were also served along with the tray to dip and enjoy.

All in all it was great experience thanks to Maryanne from PRCo. for liaison.

Cost: It’s AED 98 per person.
