Hilton Al Ain is the part of UAE history. Construction of the hotel began in 1968 and it finished in March 1971. Today Hilton Al Ain is a rich heritage with a new look. Over the years, they had many famous people staying at Hilton Al Ain, people like Mohammed Ali, Queen Elizabeth II or even the tallest man in the world, along with many presidents & dignitaries.
Hilton Al Ain was officially opened by the then Crown Prince, and current President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayhan, in 1971. And ever since it first opened, the hotel has been a big part of the city. Hilton wasn't just the first five-star hotel in Al Ain, actually it was the first five-star hotel in the entire UAE. Hotel is a history for many guests. In this hotel some employees were witness of real history in the great place like our host bell boy, who was one the oldest employees there. It is one of the oldest hotels in Alain, Hotel’s ground floor and lobby is still giving traces of old style décor and architecture. It is the first international hotel in the city and has always made Hilton a special place for the local community.
They were going through huge renovations at the time of our visit month however the Hotel was quite functional at the same time. All the procedure is so well organized that it doesn’t affect the comfort and convenience of the guests hence resulted in full occupancy throughout the season. They are going beyond wall paintings, doing full refurbishment, including plumbing and electrics, Bathroom fittings etc.
Hotel has over 200 rooms, suites and chalets, six restaurants, cafes and bars, a 90 square meters’ gym with pretty high-tech equipment, the biggest in Al Ain, and a rather cool Hiltonia Club House. There is a supervised indoors playing area for children, while outdoors there are twisted toboggans landing in the pool, along with slides and jet fountains. Tennis courts are also part of the Hiltonia Club. A wide variety of amenities including three swimming pools (Family, Olympics size & Kids), four tennis courts, an indoor squash court and a fully-equipped gym are also available for your entertainment. Release stress with a relaxing massage or take advantage of the complimentary whirlpool and sauna facilities.

Hilton Al Ain Early years
Arrival and Welcome
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Hotel Staff and met the GM, Jacques Claudel himself. He informed us about some more interesting facts. We talked about all the work and renovation going on at the property. The ballroom that hosted the royal wedding for which the hotel was built, able to host 650 people, is now fitted with panels that can split it into three separate meeting rooms. Located on the city’s outskirts, right before the border with Oman, Hilton Al Ain is though far out from Al Ain’s museums, zoo, oasis or water park, since location is remote. But it turned out to be its advantage. It is very quiet and peaceful, it has a lot of greenery, and it has easy access to the main road. All the rooms have great view too, either of the pool and gardens or the Hafeet Mountains. The hotel’s popularity is reflected in the 70 per cent annual occupancy, which is a mix of business and leisure guests. Hilton’s cafes and restaurants also attract quite a lot of daily local customers, especially since the outlets keep on diversifying and revamped.
F&b at Hilton Alain is quite diversified. You will find multi food specialty restaurants, kitchen, bars & cafes. They cater to the need of all the guests and their preferences. New Executive Chef Inan Dogru has taken over the challenge of providing the best flavors to the guests. Hotel has Seven dining venues, featuring Mexican, Arabic, Italian and international cuisine (We dine in at Makani & Flavors).
Chef Inan & his team’s enthusiasm and involvement in the kitchen at newly opened Flavours is so apparent. Mr. Ahsen (restaurant manager) & the entire staff made sure to satisfy the diners and display perfection in hospitality. We dine-in at this all day dining restaurant thrice and find no compromise in serving side. There was a sea-food galore and so much of variety to be offered in the menu also as we attended theme day. With spacious and group zones, In & out door seating arrangement, LIVE counters, in-house beverage making area & Kids counter. This restaurant offers many unique qualities and is definitely a well-organized restaurant with quality food. Whether you want a light bite, a buffet meal, or a simple cup of coffee, there’s an option for you. We loved it.
The outdoor Arabic cafe, this beautiful eatery is under the stars in garden. Boosting an open view of lush green lawns and villa, an ideal location to sit, relax and dine-in while enjoying delicious Arabic delicacies. They do fresh manakeesh here, there are all kinds of shisha, and the chef will partially cook the barbeque in the kitchen, but it will finish it at your table. On the Smokey griller serving tray.
We enjoyed our dinner on first day here. In starters we ordered a variety of 6 mezzes. These included Hummus, Moutabbel, an Arabic feta cheese dip, Kibbeh, and pastry rolls stuffed with salty Arabic cheese. Then arrived at the table was Makani Cafe mixed grill. It came with all that pop crackling sounds and devouring aroma. The mixed grill is served on flaming hot coal, and includes scrumptious and tender pieces of shish tawook, lamb chops, lamb kebabs, koftas and spicy Arabic sausages. We specially ordered grill prawn and OMG those were mind-blowing, moist and brimming with individual flavour.
Myself and hubby were so much enjoying this Chilled & phlegmatic evening at Makani Café with our never ending Shish-talk night. (i-e night with lots of chat over Shisha) The under the stars dining became even more cosier with fire heaters around. Staff is so humble, they even provide you with light blankets to wrap around while you are enjoying LIVE music along with dinner and shisha.
To end the meal Umm Ali was presented in a traditional way in rather huge portion.
A Hotel with all the necessities
Our room was well sorted with a view facing street and Jebel Hafeet. It was well equipped with all the basic amenities including Wi-Fi, media hub panels, comfortable beds, and elegant bathrooms. We experienced a family environment, an array of entertainment opportunities, and is the perfect place to wind down. It’s a perfect place for family Staycation.
We stayed at KING EXECUTIVE SUITE. Our room also offered a refreshing space to work with high-tech media hub panels and internet access, modern furniture and marble bathrooms, well fitted with basic requirements and toiletries. Beautiful flower bouquets as well as welcome treats was another touch of generous and thoughtful hospitality. Complimentary Wi-Fi was available also in the lobby area and Palm Court Café (A very nice sitting area)
Oasis of Gulf Heritage
You can experience Al Ain Cultural Heritage at a glance. As exciting attractions are just minutes away, including Al Ain’s magnificent sand dunes and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We explore and experience following ventures.
- Visited Al Ain Zoo
- Admired the stunning views of Al Ain from Jebel Hafeet Mountain
- Five-minute drive to Al Ain Mall, 10-minute drive to Bawadi Mall (On our excursion trip we went to Alain Mall)
Sights & sounds of the City
We were also kindly provided with a VIP guided tour to Alain Zoo, which is another highlight of our trip. Kids enjoyed exploring the natural habitat and Wild life and learnt a lot about different species and rare UAE based animal breed. Of course the most curious moment was an encounter with Lions and Tigers.
From stylish rooms and selection of dining venues, you’ll feel worlds away from everything in peace and serenity. Self-parking is free however the only turn down factor is non-availability of Valet service. However, all in all it is a peaceful retreat at the heart of the Garden City, Hilton Al Ain is the perfect venue for leisure and business travelers alike. A pioneer in the hospitality industry in the Emirate, Hilton Al Ain offers today a collection of acclaimed restaurants, wide banqueting spaces and enviable recreation facilities. It is indeed a lovely place for family excursion trip. We had an amazing time there and highly recommend it to all of our fans and readers.
