We had a privilege of having the very first Iftar preview at Day and Night Restaurant of Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights Hotel & Suites. The hotel is nestled in the heart of the City. The restaurant in general days also regales visitors with a variety of dishes and drinks that can be accompanied by live music. Customers can choose from an array of local & international varies dishes. The restaurant was all decorated with Ramadan table runners and Fanoos lanterns in the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and greeted by the Hotel Manager and Marketing staff. Dates and dry fruits are available on the tables for breaking fast. Arabic coffee was served to the guests.
Head Chef gave us the tour of this year’s special extensive buffet with traditional Middle Eastern specialties, live cooking stations, Arabic grills, Lamb Ouzi, dates, dry fruits, desserts and Ramadan juices and many other impressive Ramadan special dishes. In Ramadan days we would also get to listen to the sounds of the traditional Oud player and can relax with some shisha after breaking fast.
My personal favorite was the wide selection of Salads (around 56 varieties), Chicken Tagine, Eggplant Musakkan, Traditional Arabic Goulash and the Arabic mixed grill. succulent Lamb chops & Pasta Bechamel was really admired by the little ones in the family. The live preparation of Manakeesh and shawarma via professional Egyptian chefs specialize in Arabic dishes really stood out.
Freshly made Falafel and tasty chicken shawarma. The buffet also has traditional Lamb Ouzi with rice which has been slow cooked throughout the day for tender meat and infused flavors. A specialty dishes like Couscous, Shish tawook, Lamb kafta were also available, as well as oriental and international dishes for additional variety.

The location of the hotel means it’s easy for family and friends to meet for Iftar; we are conveniently positioned for residents in Barsha Heights and also for those coming from further away as we are situated just next to the Dubai Internet City metro station. This is indeed the most competitively priced iftar (Just for AED 120 per adult & AED 60 per child from 6-12 years | Free for children under 6) in #MYDUBAI and will surely be on our list for delightful lamb ouzi and Arabic specialties and salad variety. Mr. K was happy to find that for AED 35 only Shisha (special Ramadan flavors like strawberry, mint & rich cherry) is also available. Iftar is open from sunset to 10:00pm every day throughout the holy month.
