With a vast terrace space and some of the most spectacular views in the city, indeed this place stands out. we are talking about none other than the award winning Byblos Sur Mer, Lebanese restaurant which has so much more to offer other than just great food.
We were graciously invited by the team at Intercontinental Abu Dhabi and enjoyed their usual dinner specialties. I would like to talk about some great detectable bites and sips we had enjoyed throughout our business dinner.
We Started off with my favorite col mezzeh from the evening Hummus and Fatouch.
Hummos was traditional however Fatoush has the crunch of nuts and subtle taste on molasses brought that unique taste.
Then we tasted my favorite from Cold mezzeh and it was ZEHLEWIYEH BIL BATRAKH – SignatureByblos crispy mix of potato salad and “bottarga” (fish roe), olive oil and garlic dressing. We relish Mtabel Ajami it is basically Eggplant purée, fried eggplant, molasses and walnuts.
Lobster Kebbeh was something unique and uncommon I tasted there and it was such a pleasant surprise to have kibbeh in this style with Pistachio and saffron served with zaatar labneh
I must to mention about very refreshing and sizzling Lemonade Batrouneyeh (A traditional Beirut drink) it is not very sour nor so sweet but kept a par balance.
We enjoyed the crackling fried Soft shell crab and last but not the least grilled prawns from their fresh catch and this Byblos El Baher is also good for 2 people.
The dinner ended with surprising element of pasty baklawa dessert with creamy textured condensed mixture in between, extremely sweet with inimitable blend of crispy and soft center.
