Lively Saturday Turkish Brunch at Rixos the Palm

We were excited upon receiving and invite from Rixos the Palm to experience their newly launched Saturday brunch in A La Turca restaurant. It is resort’s main restaurant and has a buffet concept that serves a variety of international cuisines including authentic Turkish cuisines with delicacies such as grills, kebabs, and mezzes from Eastern Anatolia, the Aegean and the Black Sea

All in all the whole atmosphere and food is a winner and it has undeniably welcomed us with a wide choice of traditional Turkish delicacies.

Widely distributed:

We enjoyed a wide range of beverages and drinks served in the air conditioned comfort and later moved on the adjacent shaded terrace. We sat back and relaxed with live music entertainment in the evening after a Friday Brunch experience with a vast selection of beverages, live cooking stations and an extended buffet.

Well organized:

The whole Turkish affair was planned and handled by a team of Turkish chefs, we had enjoyed live cooking, Turkish inspired entertainment and a traditional Turkish service (yes indeed it was so prompt and very warm greeted).

Spacious with variant setting:

With the option of indoor or outdoor seating, it is optional for guests either to dine in the comfort of the restaurant’s modern interior or al fresco style on the large terrace that overlooking the resort’s lush greenery and pool view. With modern interiors and superb hospitality, this brunch is well suited for families. Kids friendly it is 🙂

Food Rundown:

We rediscover the art of Turkish cuisine from dolma rice stuffed vegetables, pide – Turkish pizza and kumpir – baked potatoes filled with meats, vegetables and cheese to döner kebab– skewer roasted chicken and beef, homemade baklava and Turkish Delights- a rich, sweet pastry desert. My kids favourite was a Ottoman candy stall with so many different flavors. What I like about the Live stations is the way they manage it, keeping it with some distances hence no rush in same area. Grilled meats, fresh seafood are served at live cooking stations in outside terrace area.

In addition, a selection of salads and a variety of refreshing drinks packages were available. I tried pinnacolada and berries juice.

Chef Nurretin, the resort’s Executive Chef commented: “we really wanted to offer our guests a true taste of the heritage of Turkey – where Rixos Hotels are from. We are passionate about our cuisine and like to ensure that each and every dish we prepare is homemade and of the highest quality. We also use traditional cooking equipment in the process, such as an authentic Turkish pizza oven, a döner kebap spit roast and an authentic potato oven for kumpir.”

Turkish Ice-cream kiosk was also famous amongst kids who enjoyed the tricks and were smiling throughout the brunch. There was a mascot party along with balloons and goodies which kept kids entertained as well.

Information:

Available every Saturday from 1pm- 4pm there are three packages to choose from: buffet and soft drinks for AED 199 per person; buffet and house beverages for AED 400 per person and buffet with premium beverages and bubbles for AED 500 per person. Children up to the age of 3 years dine with compliments and children from the age of 4 -12 can enjoy 50% off.
