Petek Restaurant & Sweets – Marina Mall Abu Dhabi

Petek Restaurant & Sweets serves classy Turkish food in the Capital of UAE. We have had tasted their unique flavors at another branch earlier and were all excited to try out their yummy menu yet again at Marina Mall Abu Dhabi. The authentic Turkish menu at this restaurant has been given a slight regional boost with spice and flavors as most of the local diners love to dine out here. The Turkish flair persuaded us for eating at this gorgeous Restaurant. Also, kebabs are the perfect reason to eat here following their decent decor and welcoming, efficient & friendly staff who made sure to make our trip a memorable one at one of the best Turkish restaurants in UAE.

Mix mezze platter consists of many items, for example, hummus Muhammarah Vine leaves and Ali Nazik( smoked eggplant puree with garlic, yogurt & olive oil). Haydari was my fav with herb salad and yogurt garlic and mint topped with olive oil dressing. Roka Salata i-e “Roca Salad” at @petekmarinamall at @marinamallad was one of the lightest summer-friendly & gutsy salad that made the perfect side to our favorite Turkish meal at our favorite restaurant. I would highly recommend you to try this appetizer as this dish will lift the humble roka leaves with a secret Chef’s dressing with yet a simple compilation consisted of red gem cherry tomatoes, roughly hand grated Tulum cheese, dry apricots, & walnuts combination. Sun-dried tomato skin just finished this one with a perfect blend.

Petek Tawa the braised beef version came in the end in a sizzling platter with onion green and red bell pepper along with the fat tomato in a casserole pot covered with the bread and cooked inside

Icle Kofte which is another version of kibbeh is dainty, fresh and crunchy. These deep fried minced lamb with crushed pistachio pockets were hand sculpted with the bulgur wheat dough. I love the aroma of fresh herbs oozing out of this appetizer. Grilled meatballs and tenderloin veal Steak arrived in an assorted BBQ platter of with potatoes fries and sauce. They were tender and juicy meat pieces.

From the doner variety, we tested their signature Iskendar kebab which is thinly sliced beef from skewer served over tasty pita bread with some Savory tomato sauce. The dish has been layered, over the bread, there is a sauce with meat and then sauce with rice and finally topped with a kebab layer. It was best in mains with its outstanding taste! The food was so fresh and yummy with secret in-house seasoning via their Turkish Chefs team. The portion size is generous. Our 2 little munchkins even loved the taste of meat & soup. Kebabs were the best though; they season the food with mild spices which makes it equally suitable for people with all taste palettes to enjoy.

Baked lamb leg was Mr. K’s favorite dish of the overall menu it is prepared in the oven. This thinly sliced fell off from the bone meat is lying on the bed of vulgar rice. The plate is served with the semi glace sauce and some grilled green vegetables on the side.

Petek serves indeed one of the best kunafas and baklawa variety in town and hence became our go-to place for takeout and office deliveries for any occasion. This is also the best place for Turkish coffee.

Yes; Traditionally Turkish their coffee was well presented amidst flames. It was so exciting to see it’s preparation on hot sand. It was indeed a fascinating way to create a lasting memory while guests finished their delicious dinner. I liked coffee combo with chocolate fondant cake. Yes, that thick, sweet, gritty, tiny cup had not only an exciting preparation that hints at its ancient origins but was excellent in taste. Making Turkish coffee is an art  for them & one of the oldest methods still in use today, its simplicity allows for accuracy without the precise instrument or coffee maker. The addition of spices and sweetener helped to make up for inexact roasting. It is a great excuse to socialize with friends and/or perk myself at work hence I ♥️ it

Fun Fact about Turkish Coffee

Traditionally, when a man and woman are engaged, the families gather for coffee made by the woman, who will add detergent(what seriously!), salt, or some other contaminant to her future husband’s coffee. If he drinks it without complaint and is gracious, it is a sign he will be a good and patient husband.

All in all this place serves heart-warming and scrumptious food and is indeed a famous Turkish delight in the heart of the Capital. Their food taste is unique and is a symbol of amazing Turk hospitality! We cheerish the whole food review experience and commend the hard woring team and creators for the restaurant for idea of Turkish traditions alive for years to come in the UAE region.👍
