Preview of First Peruvian Restaurant in Town at Bab Al Qasr Hotel & Residences

For all you Peruvian food lovers, there is great news. Bab Al Qasr Hotel & Residences has recently launched a new restaurant to try out in Abu Dhabi, and it is bound to take taste buds on a culinary cabaret! The newly opened LIMO restaurant in Abu Dhabi offers authentic Peruvian cuisine paired with a unique and modern service style.

We were invited over to experience a teaser into their culinary line-up which is yet in the stages of finalizing the entire menu. With no specific menus available at LIMO their gastronomy is temptingly presented table-side for the guests to choose. For now, during their soft launch, they are offering varied menu on a daily basis. We did tease our taste buds with many mouth-watering dishes such as Ceviche Aji Amarill; it would be my desired choice with detectable sauce on my next visit too.

My 2nd favorite from the evening was Causa Fashion. A pleasurable intro surprises that make the most of the Peruvian potato. I loved the salty and sour taste from lime & pepper plus crab tartare. The crispy shrimp was an addictive combo with mashed potato.

Nigiri Anticuchero (Sushi Look-alike) was a sliced tenderloin on rice bed; it was nice however I was missing some sauce to go. Jalea de Marisco. A simple dish of lightly battered seafood was packed full of flavor.

Mr. K enjoyed Beef Anticucho, superbly succulent skewers of beef tenderloin with pureed mashed potatoes and smoked anticuchera sauce. Palette cleanser comes in the form of Oyster where it was a bit strange to see the bizarre presentation of savory oyster and the sweet custard flavor creamy concoction. However, it made us all set for next course. We loved coconut Ice cream and hot cake in dessert.

We over all loved those immaculately presented plates at Limo, the only factor missing was enough communication. Certain elaboration of the dishes by the Chef would make the dishes easy for diners to comprehend and enjoy even better. Martini Pizza (i-e drinkable Pizza) was a very interesting concept, unfortunately, couldn’t conceive by the diners in the same way as not elucidate.

As this cuisine is relatively new in Capital, I would highly recommend you to try this intimate Peruvian cuisine, prepared differently in every region of the country, based on the climate and ingredients available in that specific region. Inspired by century old traditions, LIMO serves delectable dishes which boast the best of the mountains, the coast, and the jungle. Each dish being an eclectic fusion of Asian, African, Spanish, British, and Italian cuisines inspired by the plethora of immigrants who came in search of mystery and romance and stayed to call Peru home.

LIMO is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am. Dishes are priced at AED 25 for the starters, AED 35 for the main course, and AED 25 for the dessert. Guests are encouraged to come in a smart casual attire. Children from age 12 and above are welcome.
