If you are looking for some delicious Chinese, Thai and Japanese fairly prepared in a familiar style and taste. Red Dragon restaurant is the place to be. Cooked to satisfy your rooted desi palate, the Indo-Chinese dishes at this restaurant are really finger licking good. Red Dragon is a refectory which happens to make a valiant avowal with menu options. The ambiance has many Red elements as reflected in Chinese eatery and by name too with giant size dragon portraits. There are many choices in the menu. Their soup serving was good for 1 person but their dishes can be good for 2 people. Be warned though that if your taste bud is sensitive to salty foods, then you must need to mention to the server. They will make a request to the chef to be easy on the salt.
SOUPS & MOCKTAILS:
We began our meal with the famous Hot & sour and Munchow Soup; a must for any diner who is a fan of spicy soups, they serve it with crispy noodle crackers. It was absolutely delicious, with each spoonful bursting with incredible flavor from the exotic spices, green chilies, black pepper, and coriander. The fried noodle cracker gave it a kick which tantalizes your taste buds. The soup’s perfect combination of tanginess and hotness definitely makes it a preparation worth coming back for. We devour some excellent mocktails.
STARTERS & APPETIZERS:
Dim sum: crescent shaped steamed dumplings with aromatic chicken minced infused with Chinese herbs and ah’ that distinctive dipping sauce. Yummy❗️ and a refreshing papaya salad, oil-free, tangy and crunchy! Soon joined by fried wontons with sweet & sour sauce. Then comes the Jumbo Fried Prawns I literally loved them golden fried. They were mind-blowing with the wonderful quality of the sizeable prawns and how it combined with these simple yet flavorsome items to become extremely delectable. Stir fried – Noodle with veg & chicken good and simple, not too oily with perfect seasoning and crunchy pieces of bell peppers and fried chicken chunks. Spring Rolls was basically the Crispy filo pastry deep fried, heavily loaded with veggies and chicken. They were moist, succulent and fresh.
MAINS:
For the main course, we opted for the renowned Lamb Oyster Chili Garlic Curry and Tofu with baby Corn & Broccoli. Both of these vintage pan-Asian curries were very appetizing and the authentic ingredients used exuded an amazing aroma along with a discrete taste that causes your mouth to salivate. My husband raves about the Chicken oyster sauce as well, the soy smell was empowering and making it rich in taste. For me, another favorite was Kung Pao Chicken where chicken pieces were perfectly marinated and tempered with burnt red chilies, capsicum and cashew nut. Both the rice dishes (Singaporean and Veg-Fried rice) were mild in taste and the quality of rice chosen was excellent too. The spices used were perfect
DESSERTS:
Fried banana taste so good, will always order it because it’s really good. Best in price, compact sweet menu item varieties starting from AED 5. It’s toffee banana with ice cream. Delicious and mouth-watering creamy desserts!
VERDICT:
“Tasty fresh and exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
Service was competent. Prices were a tad bit high but the quality was very good, though if you order 2-3 mocktails bill would trigger up as 20% is already added as taxes too. The restaurant has something for all Far-East Asian cuisine devotees. It is a joint where you can enjoy some wonderful Chinese or Thai preparations for a chili lover’s delight. It’s clear that each dish was prepared to order seeing it’s freshness of ingredients.
