Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Mr. Chidambar and his dedicated team of staff and Chefs. He briefed us about the concept and unique selection of the staff which were all been trained and were directly hired from India and are a keen and devoted bunch of people. This solely owned eatery was an envisioned thought of its founder and progressing its way to make their marks in Biryani and Kebabs preparation in Capital.

Set-up & Staff:

The interior is beautiful here, the long chain from ceiling to floor creates that extra drama and similarity to royal era. Dim light, warm colors and cozy ambiance is what made this place extra special. Options of more or less lighting at each table is quite thoughtful as it can be well controlled as per diners mood too. Service is impeccable; staff is super friendly, helpful and patient taking us through every selection of dish. They prepared some fabulous mocktails and virgin mojitos

Loved the concept of the menu with each dish explained in separate cards with pics. Helps in making a choice. The size and structure of the restaurant are very compatible and built in a way to give this high-end look. Seating arrangement is ample for around 50-80 ppl on the hall.

Aurangjebi Murgh Shorba

This Indian style chicken soup / shorba originates from Mughal Kind Aurangzeb’s royal kitchen. I loved the presentation as well the delicious taste, chicken bones were slowly simmered over a slow fire and then infused with bay leaves, cardamom, crushed garlic ginger. The garnishing was done by saffron and almond pesto to give more of a modern touch.

Junagadi Kebab

This place has a promise not to disappoint the vegetarian hence also serve these yummilicious veg patties. They claim it to be as good as the authentic vegetarian similar dish from Gujrat region from India and is famous for a vegetarian. We loved the taste as well, it’s a powerhouse of nutrition, this fresh millet flour patty is made from finely chopped beans, carrots, cauliflower and then mixed with mashed potatoes. I loved the crunchy taste and softness at the same time which comes from peanuts and cheese inclusion.

Shami & Galouti Kebab

These lamb kebabs are not though the best ones I had in Capital. However, the presentation was nothing short of a dish fit for royalty. It is tender and is carefully prepared with sautéed lamb, chickpeas, and flavorsome Indian spices. Salt for a little less for my liking, though. I loved there Galouti kebab, on the other hand, it was super tender and perfect even for a toothless to enjoy the kebab especially. I am going back to taste this moist mince tenderize meat mix with inion. Cashew paste and herbs.

Keema Potli

These lamb dumplings were served with a special dip; dough crust was too thick but still cooked however the mince mix filly inside was aromatic and quite generous in quantity. In real, they appear quite bigger in size than how they look in display card menu. Mild in taste and liked by my kids.

Bhutiyan Di Macchi

Corn-coated crunchy Fish, one of my favourite item from the starters. I always liked Indian style marinated fishes hence was expecting myself to be critical on judgment when tasting this. But this one hits all the right notes with mustard, chili & lemon taste. The crunchy corn on the top was the best part of all.

Paneer Tikka Mumtaz

This stuffed cheese with the minced veg dish is something I never tasted elsewhere. The aroma and consistency speak of clay oven grilling. It was soft and delicious.

Punjabi Chicken Tikka

Hubby opted to go for this boneless version if tandoori chicken, as our host explained that the meat was primarily taken from tender chicken legs and then marinated with lemon, fenugreek, Kashmiri chili and special spice blend to bring that perfect taste. It was served with delicious chutney and was one of the best dishes we sampled at Royal Biryani.

Lamb Rogan Josh

This boneless lamb curry is also a must try. Tender chunks of lamb are perfectly cooked in a delicious gravy made from onion, tomatoes, yogurt, ginger garlic and chili. It was infused with spice flavors. Like some typical tomato over empowered taste curry, I rather found this one very moderate and tantalizing my taste buds.

Prawn Biryani

Highly recommended, inspired by the taste of coastal region of India, this aromatic rice dish talks about the food standards at Royal Biryani. Shrimps were tender,  perfectly soaked up in spices and accentuates real texture on Biryani. Though pricey this menu item speaks its quality and taste and is a must-try on the menu list.

Kacche Gosht ki Biryani

This lamb biryani is an authentic Hyderabadi biryani. Commonly assumed easiest preparation is quite challenging too. Because layering that marinated meat layered with long grained basmati rice and to flavored them with saffron, butter and spices surely need some craftsman’s skills in Kitchen. It was the whole package of biryani we had at Royal Biryani, and I can easily say that this is a hidden Gem for biryani which every biryani lover must try.

Awadhi Murgh Biryani

One of their most popular and highest selling dishes is Chicken Biryani. It was aromatic and spicy cooked to perfection.

Dawat E Tandoor (Veg & Non-veg Options)

We would recommend you to try out their platters of assorted kebabs and grilled items (meat, cheese & vegetables seekh) if you feel like getting the taste of many items on a budget. It has assorted bites, and all were delicious.

Jheenga Nisa

This tandoori prawn is a treat for the seafood lover. Aroma of spices and charcoal made it more attractive for us, and the minimal margination of yogurt, lemon, and few spices was a key to this flavorsome item.

Verdict

Overall I loved my experience at this very decent and upright restaurant. It has great potential to make its name with fame in authentic Biryani and Kebabs in town. It offers well-prepared food with balanced spices and perseverance plus impressive presentation. Last but not the least with Star service and management Royal Biryani has put up with some excellent amenities and customer care in fine dining.
