St Regis Afternoon Tea – The Drawing Room

After noon Tea is a great way to gather and socialize with you beloved friends and families. It is also indeed one very popular tradition in middle east and in this part of the region particularly.

Last week we were invited at St. Regis Saadiyat Island for a fashion inspired Afternoon tea. Hotel presents its classic sophistication with a modern sensibility and the brand has remained committed to an uncompromising level of bespoke and anticipatory service for its guest.

Lady Caroline Astor, Socialite mother to St. Regis founder JJ Astor IV, fashioned this art of the St. Regis Afternoon tea. She has introduced the ritual at high society gatherings at her home in Manhattan in the late 19th century. St. Regis celebrated her legacy and has cordially invited us to the launch of their fashion inspired afternoon tea.

Some highlights of the Evening

I totally love the concept how The St. Regis Saadiyat island Drawing Room fuses it’s long set timeless -traditional; tea rituals with fashion and style quotient. It was indeed an intimate tea-time get together which has enriched in a unique blend of glamour and flavor. The venue surely has added that stylish twist to the whole affair of fashionable chats and quality time amongst the friends together. It’s a trendy, Chic, superior and high-society adorned gathering.

When you talk about luxury, jewelry is one of few things come to your mind. To cater to its fashion inspired theme, the very famous Dhamani LUXURY jewelry brand partnered with them and showcased some of their exquisite jewelry designs.

There is a special range of their Arabian Blend, signature teas been presented at the evening. Also in-house tea sommelier was on spot and in hand to further elaborate and advise you on its blend, taste and types. We also sipped-on their exclusive electric lemonade with gold spec, yes indeed! you get to drink that gold floating over your sparkling glass.

Menu at the fashion afternoon tea was flawless. Headed and compiled by the executive chef Malcom Webster, the whole aura of treats continues to thoughtfully built its class as per St. Regis F&B standards.

It’s been presented on a very fashionable triple tiered stand with royal white square trays been artistically placed. Its comprises of Sandwiches and Savories in the bottom most tier. Pesto bocconcini & cherry tomato salad with focaccia crisp was so crunchy and full of flavors. You just bite on that crispy disk on top while munching on your Salad and viola. I also loved the idea of serving smoked salmon on doughnut with caviar on top and cream inside! it’s a tiny wrapped surprised with so much of flavor. I was a great fan of the traditional duck egg mayonnaise with watercress sandwich and it’s a part of afternoon tea. I love the nutrition ratio in savory as they added another seared Tuna Nicoise Salad on Rye brown toast, healthy and unique. We were glad to find some of our favorites such as miniature finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones with one-off statement pieces, in keeping with the bespoke occasion. Our favorite was violet flavored berries one.

There is a selection of fine cakes with pear loaf and gateau basque. I personally like the stylish pecan nut brownie pooch for being totally a fashionista on the tray, also the chocolate tiffany box was too glamorous and guess what we even got to have these diamond and jewel shaped treats as small giveaway to try next day.

Top tier being most gorgeous had some amazing stuff too, you just can’t miss that St. Regis watch, which is a dulcey salted caramel macaroon. In tiny little glasses you get those extra special shots of Ivory green tea. Also there is pretty red capsicum and raspberry tartlet & blackcurrant mousse with white chocolate blossom ganache. All the items are unique and flavorsome. We thoroughly enjoyed great evening with great company and a very classic rituals and special time.
