Stills, casual dining Restaurant in Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi at Yas Island – Abu Dhabi, boasts dark & Gold Bar style interiors with yellow light having all wood and warmth inside. They have an amazing outdoor sitting along with a stretch green garden to offer a buffet in their theme nights, with the weather being pleasant you will find the place mostly crowded with guests enjoying the atmosphere along with live music.
We indeed enjoyed an exclusive evening trying their new menu along with lovely ambiance. The food affair kicked off with U.S Prime Beef Carpaccio. Along with the lovely presentation, the taste stands out too topped off with parmesan flakes, croutons, and roasted pine nuts. The citrusy rustic dressing was a result of Dijon mustard and balsamic & made it more earthy while offering the best of nature is the addition of fresh roquette leaves.
From grills section from ala carte menu, we tried Prime U.S. Tenderloin Cut as we tasted on Rib-eye from open buffet already. This 185-day grain fed article was succulent and was served with greens, roasted tomatoes, and a giant grilled portabello mushroom. You can choose the side and sauce accordingly. I loved the temperature of meat presented to me along with apt. Presentation. The meat juices made it delicious; the steak doneness was simply perfect for a medium rare.
It’s warm through the middle with a hint of red. Most of the center of the steak was pink. The sides well browned, the top and bottom caramelized to dark brown color with good grill marks. This steak has a firm surface but gives portion in the middle and it did spring back flawlessly.
Next up was still signature burger though it’s not a new offering in the menu, however, its one of those classics at Stills which you surely don’t want to miss out especially if you are a burger fan. With wagyu beef patty in soft sesame bun, this is an ideal comfort meal with iceberg lettuce, grilled onions, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup. Mushroom, pickles, and melt on of country-aged cheddar cheese. Mouthwatering !~
Stills flatbread is another highly recommended dish from the Mains. In case you are vegetarian they have a similar offering for starters as non-veg. Portions are sliced in zig-zag (pie style) way and not small squares which is so encouraging to bite-on everything and kept the flavor of all the ingredients.
Rosemary & mint pulled lamb was adding a Mediterranean touch with feta & goats cheese. Pesto has beautifully incorporated with caramelized red onion. The whole garden look on this giant-sized pide was completed with cherry tomatoes, roquette, and balsamic glaze. It was filling and is even available with pan seared prawn option.
Lastly, in Main dishes, we tried Garlic Prawns Tacos. These handcrafted tacos were presented with finesse and perfect culinary skills over the bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, dressed with diced avocado, tomato, some garlic cream with guacamole & pico de gallo (in-house salsa). It was mouthwatering as Taco shell and shrimps itself made an addictive combo, and it’s fresh. Kudos to Chefs & kitchen team of Stills for adding something new of this vision and presentation on the menu!
In Desserts we tried Sticky Toffee Pudding plus Rhubarb & strawberry crumble. Crumble was unique with fresh fruit cuts & white chocolate and I appreciate the Chantilly cream sauce which helped to gulp through a slightly hard baked crumble. I would prefer it a little soft.
Sticky pudding is a must-try, and their butterscotch sauce is the secret of this delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding along with warm center and caramelized walnuts. It’s something we’re very fond of stills restaurant and is a highlight of their new menu.
Stills Steak Wednesdays:
We enjoyed Prime Valentines at Stills in Crowne Plaza Yas Island. It was unlimited Steak! Nothing can get better than this! Don’t worry if you were not there this Valentine you can still enjoy their unlimited ribeye steak, salads, desserts, and drinks package whilst enjoying soothing music by a live saxophonist from 7 pm- 11 pm for AED 225 every Wednesday.
