Last week we enjoyed the best in cuisine, entertainment, and ambiance at the Venetian Village. We dined in for Iftar at Bushra, a first of its kind Ottoman inspired tent with food that is from an award-winning kitchen of Barfly by Buddha Bar. Bushra is an exclusive concept maintained throughout the month of Ramadan, offering world – famous culinary experiences in one scenic and vibrant waterfront setting. Spanning 20,000 square meters, Venetian Village at the grounds of The Ritz – Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal.

What is Bushra? – Literally translating to ‘good news’ in Arabic, which is precisely what the Venetian Village has brought to their guests for the holy month. The whole place has transformed into a tent encasing an Arabian Haven, and is open to guests throughout the holy month, offering the best cuisine, entertainment, and ambiance. Revolutionizing the Ramadan dining scenario is one of the swankiest settings in the capital indeed.

Why must you settle in the confines of a congested temporary set–up when you have a whole venue transforming itself to accommodate the spirit of the season? Bushra is literally a ‘good news,’ for the food lovers of Abu Dhabi as it epitomizes the Middle Eastern customs.

Explaining the concept, Mr. Ravi Shankar, General Manager, Venetian Village highlights, “The Holy Month spreads the idea of togetherness, especially through the tradition of breaking the fast as a family. Bushra is a different way to bring together the best culinary experiences for our guests, for them to dine and enjoy a great time with family and friends. With colored linen hanging all the way from the middle of the roof, you will find yourself sharing your iftar meal in a one-of-a-kind tent.”

With their usual signature items like torch sushi, a host of gastronomic delights were on offer including live cooking stations of delicious Ouzi & Prawn Tempuras. Plus an authentic buffet, and freshly cooked Ala Carte options. A converted Shisha lounge will be complimented with Oud music to entertain guests. From the second we walked in, we were greeted with Arabic – inspired artwork from the corridor to every nook and corner within the venue. We were also amazed to find Arabic art effects projected in a variety of hues, bringing in contemporary flavours to the interiors. Service was great as being a true tradition at Barfly. All in all, it was a lovely experience.
