We had a posh & classy and truly unique iftar experience at Trésind, one of the most sought after dining destinations of the city conveniently located at 2nd floor, Nassima Royal Hotel – Sheikh Zayed Road. We decided to enjoy a sumptuous feast with friends and family as the professional culinary team ( atleast 2-3 chefs literally came to the table to describes the dishes and asking our feedback , so interactive and impressive) prepared a menu that is inspired from traditional Arabic staples, served during this festive month.
The menu still has intact some of our favorite signature dishes from our summer menu (reviewed here) like Wagyu tenderloin & Baked sea bass. However Chef Himanshu Saini and team also present brand new concept of a sit-down buffet dinner, presenting dishes that are true synonyms for Ramadan celebration in the Middle East. This setup is quite exclusive as you surely need some days where you won’t miss those post-iftar talks with friends and family and cherish the spirit of sharing and passing round the dishes, without getting up from your place and picking from buffet.
Their Amuse bouche was stunning in presentation and was equally good when we tasted. Few worth mentioning items were:
- Crudités - with Edible lemon shell
- Date candy (Stuffed and sprinkled with pistachios)
- Saffron and almond milk (Kid’s favorite – served in adorable small glass bottles and it was so refreshing.
- Steamed edamame, wild zaatar (Middle eastern tocuh)
- Salad of the day i-e Egg plant salad with pomegranate and yogurt cream on top. Its crunchy and tangy.
Sides encounter was literally remarkable, can’t believe the amount of dedication been given to each and every item. Them mongolian meat delicacy was to die for, then chicken keema with Green chili zhug has phenomenal taste and goes well to taste with fluffy and soft bread. To keep a health balace burnt butter coucous will rescue along with boiled corn. Lamb kofta (which we refer on table as bite size dynamites) were exploding with butter pop and taste in mouth.
To mark a different experience this year, there are few more dishes to gorge on. Let’s talk about traditional lamb nihari or roast lamb shank biryani and much more. The meat in nihari was falling off from bones with finesse, it is so tender, succulent and full of aroma and spice taste. Lamb shank & Baby chicken both were delicious served with adequate zeera (cumin) raita (salted yogurt).
In Roast Tajine we had Roast chicken & Baked sea bass both were served with sautéed vegetable and has an adequate spice level to cater with Ramadan fast scenario. (Their sea bass is best). Hubster loved the Tandoori prawns with perfect grilled time and taste. In curries Butter Chicken and Goan beef were 2 best after Lamb nihari.
The most stunning end to the whole meal was in the form of deconstructed Black forest cake, it took over our ultimate favorite modernist chaat trolley indeed. It was a piece of art and like the true lovers while we finished the tray we even left out own post-indulging master piece. Known for the unique infusion of molecular gastronomy, the Ramadan special dishes did take forth Trésind’s concept of taking traditional flavors and presenting them in a modern manner.
Their everlasting quest for beauty and edgy expression is reflected through the exquisite food presentation. Lava Lamp Berrilicious mango and passion fruit punch presented at the beginning was as pleasing to the eye as it is to the taste buds.
All in all it was a great experience of pure indulgence from scrumptious meal to a comfortable and relaxed ambience. Along with great food we enjoyed the dramatic interior studded with warm lights, which is an eclectic combination of classic and contemporary design. Their Ramadan menu aims to showcase what Islamic culture has contributed to the gastronomic scenario of the world. To enjoy every bit of these mouth-watering delicacies we highly recommend you to enjoy each and every course of the meal. We got some great surprises from the starting till end.
