Since in Abu Dhabi, and having enjoyed the city we needed to escape the noise, traffic etc, hence we decided to cast away to shore with more of nature’s influence rather than man-made structures. Finalizing on Danat Jabal DhanaΒ Resort, two hours away on a wonderful straight road leading to Danat, Jebel Dhana area (located on the Western coast of Abu Dhabi, Al Gharbia) was a great decision. It is a 5-star luxury wonder, inviting guests and visitors to discover the best-kept secrets of the Emirates with its stellar beachfront.Β  We were in lovely with the striking sea beach and calamity, we experienced before when visited earlier to β€œFamily Day Event” atΒ  the beach. Now all set to explore the property and it’s amenities.

ARRIVAL & ENTRY

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted & offered to be seated . Later offered with warm cleaning towels and lemon drinks (I loved it). β€˜Vishal’ handled our reservation upon arrival and our host team member β€˜Kushal’ generously guide us to our room and gave brief intro (knowing about our long & tiring drive) about the executive floor and our connected rooms and mechanism. He kindly offered to re-visit us once we freshen up to further assist us with any facility enquiry. I took a last sip of refreshing lemon drink I was still holding & enjoying. Room dΓ©cor and welcome treats left us spell bound. We stepped out in balcony as we dint wanted to miss out of that magical sea facing view from our room. We relaxed on chairs at room terrace and witness those sea lagoons (Yes! First I ever saw and also here in UAE).
We were told by our host about these lagoon found quite frequent in that beautiful weather in this part of the year. And even they found some amazing underneath sea spots with natural coral reefs while diving. Oh we were so excited for water sports and activities, can’t wait..

Service & STAFF

The hotel facility area is small compared to likes of some of the other beach resorts, but it’s excellent in terms of service and accommodation and well as keeping it intact with natural elements. Staff is ever-smiling and excellent, friendly, kind & attentive with a personal service to guest. Some of them were very accommodating and went out of the way to organize a Kayaking trip for me as we couldn’t have the same on decided hour due to heavy tides.

GARDEN & LOBBY

We love their refreshing &Β  beautiful gardens spreading across the property and wonderful lobby. It is a must to visit especially on some special occasion as we went there on Christmas and enjoyed the most happening celebration ! Hotel has a combination of traditional and modern dΓ©cor. There is also a small play area near the garden which my kind were fond of and I must mention that giant-size chess board to play on. If you are having infants and toddlers they have an indoor soft play area near Body & Soul treatment room.

Body & Soul

This property is cosy haven good enough to offer privacy. Their massages are very good too atBody & wellness. We tried Swedish massage and the therapist was much knowledgeable of her job. However the treatment rooms are compact in contrast to the level of treatment they are offering. Our 2 days scheduled was all drafted and planned by very kind Jervelyn and the relaxation comes as a great surprise.

F&B

Everything was made so easy and as soon as we arrived we fell into holiday mode! The main restaurant was TIDE has won a few awards and we enjoyed our breakfast and lunch there but for specialty food next day we went to Zaitoun a relaxed atmosphere with Italian cuisine and had dinner once at the restaurant on the beach. Room service prices were quite reasonable as well. The food is very good in all the restaurants and there is lots of variety.

Rooms

Our rooms were of good size and had everything we expected, Bed linings and mattresses are so comfortable. We were offered twin a rooms as we roll with family with balcony, they were identical. I would recommend this floor (6th) as these balconies get the sun in the morning if you like to sit out and see sun rise & set and just get some sunlight. Rooms are spacious enough to roam around and walk for kids and you are provided with free water, tea & coffee. Oh yes we must to metion a little pet in our room, A tiny fish in glass pot with striking shine blue and green in color. It kept my kids busy for long while I need to finish off my assignment.

Beach & Pool

After having a quick lunch meal in TIDES restaurant in Lobby and decided for a light stroll, and headed out to the beach Its quite large with plenty of loungers there as well as at the pool. The hotel was quiet when we reached but did get quite busy at the weekend. The sea was shallow and did not get deep until quite a bit out of shore or at night only so it was great for kids to enjoy in day hours. There is quite a bit of seaweed that hotel staff clear up each morning so it’s on a par with some beaches in Dubai. It was amazing white sand and crystal clear blue water though not warm as weather was a bit chilly and windy. At night it’s blissful on this island and resort, we laid in the hammocks listening to the water and watching the stars. With kids we spent most of our time at beautiful beach and shallow waters of the Gulf or around the pool during the day. We felt like we had our own private pool and beach but on weekends the hotel did get busy.

WATER SPORTS

Wandering around the desert oasis, all your daily stress melts away, especially when you take advantage of the complimentary non-motorized water sports. I also did experience great adventure of my life there and Mrs. Kevin made it very special for me and I can’t thank her enough. There is a selection of water sports on offer like banana boat, diving, boat tours and kayaking. My children loved the freedom they had in the hotel and felt very safe and well attended by the staff too. They loved exploring age suitable water sports around and enjoyed. I went on Kayaking and it was a fun ride, looking through the water seeing those fishes and coral was indeed a breath taking moment which I experience in my life for the very first time and will cherish those memories forever.

We had a fantastic break and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. I wanted a few days away in a very peaceful location and was not disappointed, though the journey time is around 2 hours, it is certainly worth it. It’s a very relaxing place and the rates are very reasonable we are heading back there very soon as hotel is trying to introduce more activities and continuously strive to maintain a high standard in both facilities and service to our valuable guests
