A Beirut hotspot, BouBouffe, was born in the heart of charming Achrafieh district in Beirut, Lebanon. We relish this unique experience of authentic food at BouBouffe’s first international venture in the United Arab Emirates at Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi.

It brings its acclaimed taste to the UAE providing a unique and authentic home-style cuisine Offering a full-fledged menu ranging from Lebanese to International specialties.

Highlight of the menu was ofcourse some mezzeh as well as the refreshing drink Qamar EL dine which is been so freshly prepared and literally amazed us with a very first sip you get to taste some dry fruits and nuts while having it too. We enjoyed crispy bread with olives while waiting for our mezzeh to arrive.

We found the menu more like a blend of traditional, local beiruti cuisine with some international dishes. It surely has good value except some appetizers which are a bit pricey compare to other similar places. Some traditional Lebanese dishes were very tasty and outperform others. Hindbeh was our favorite! Good Lebanese food it is and served hot and fresh. Our only complaint was for the usage of Ghee for Hommus which surely glazed the appearance however dint encourage us to eat after sometime due to its greasy layer sitting on top. Their chicken and meat dishes were subtle and juicy. Fattoush was fresh and traditional. In hot mezzeh we tried Kebbeh “Zaghottawieh” Stuffed with Chawarma, it was different and unique however would have been better if kibbeh crust would be baked a little less, fried eggs with Awarma in Clay was our favorite it was simple and with no addition of extra spices and the clay cooking flavor made it extra aromatic and tasty.

I would say BouBouffe houses the best Chawarma in town, cooked via a special coal-grill to create a distinct flavor. Charcoal cooking gives the meat this unique smokey taste. They also have the daily dishes which were not available when we visited. Siyadieh was not so promising and the rice was over cooked and bit hard. Mixed grills were good and been freshly prepared.

The setting in Yas Mall’s cascade dining section is pleasant with a good outside seating area where you watch the fountains. I would commend them on Server’s knowledge & Promptness of service. They were very helpful and are able to answer our questions about the food. Overall the staff is very friendly and the seniors very conversant, we were well attended by Mr. Tariq.

If I would have gone for the shawarma only, this outlet deserves a Plus 4 rating however for overall menu we rate it 4 on our tastometer. Desserts are average and definitely needs changes and variety to be offered to compete with so many cascade restaurants! Their Lebanese variety appetizers and Chawarma is definitely good.
