Brand New Flavors at 55&5th The Grill at St. Regis

We were thrilled to receive an exclusive invitation from St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi to join then at private event for the launch of 55&5th The Grill’s new menu launch for this season.

It was a VIP guest lists where all the attendees have experiences and got indulged in their state-of-art dining and brand new flavors. Venue was indeed a treat to your eyes, so elegant and eminence with super high ceilings, Art-Deco style ambiance, featuring ball-drop royal chandeliers.

What makes this place even more enchanting at night times is the recessed rather balances lighting, molding, dark wood accents, and illuminated installations on wall, with lounge-style leather armchairs, Jazz music, and of course the great company of our friends and amazing food served by talented Chef’s Team.

The new Menu will go LIVE from November 1st, 2015.

We tasted what is more of the American-inspired menu begins with the Starters which were indeed the Star highlights on the evening. Prepared with delicacy and full dedication it was presented in a salient appearance and touched the prime of our taste buds.

Starters were so refined comprised of Fontina Cheese, truffle butter sauce with chestnut puree. Accompanied it on plate were 2 more remarkable appetizers Braised Angus Short Rib, with goat cheese drenched in Chive Oil and last is the sweet and sour combination Cured Foie Gras, Endive Marmalade with raw endive and forest fruit. We literally enjoyed the peppery honey taste.

Main dishes include 2 options for the special day menu i-e Sterling Angus Tenderloin. Steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty, as requested from Medium to well-done rear. Portion is reasonable, this is one of their signature dish and I am glad to know will continue to be on new menu as well. It was well presented, as you would expect from such a good restaurant and St. Regis standards.

2nd option was Cornish Yellow Breast Chicken portion, it’s tender and was melting in mouth. It was beautifully platted and served with black truffle chicken skin and quail egg yellow and sausage. Very well perceived and gourmet dish.

Serving of Fries was very attractive, they were hand cut and fried fresh. Also in texture it was crisp on the outside and fluffy in the centre. Sautéed Mushrooms and Spinach with butters accompanied well with the main course.

Dessert was indeed a sugar dream in a chocolate heaven, so moist and warm at the same time chocolaty and crunchy. I love the presentation of their Chocolate Vortex having caramelized Ganache & milk chocolate Chantilly mousse center. It was the whole cocoa affair we experienced when the hot chocolate sauce is being poured over its crunchy Chocolate disk.

We loved how impeccable the menu has finished on a sweet note, when presented on the table in high trays what we named as a “Triple Treat” of Lemon Taste, jelly and the very sensational caramelized lollipops.

Special Thanks to St. Regis Hotel, Kaye, Shweta and Alexandra for invitation & being lovely host and Chef Malcolm Webster and his team for bringing the taste magic to our food palates.
