Ciao Ristorante is a small, warm & calm and intimate space nestled in a corner of the Sheraton Jumeirah Resort. It is truly Italian with its traditional cooking methods, specializing on homemade pastas and freshly made seafood received daily from the Arabian Gulf.
Ciao Restaurant is located on the JBR section of Dubai Marina, next to The Walk. It is just the place in case you are craving for a special dinner with the focus on good atmosphere and magnificent Italian food.
The Restaurant is led by an Italian Chef to reflect the origin of the Italian culinary and hospitality. Besides the culinary delights, Ciao Ristorante is an art gallery showcasing different artists.
Upon our arrival to the venue we were warmly greeted by our host Israel who is very well versed with Italian food glossary, so we even declared our elementary Italian skills and cuisine awareness and dig in further into the concept and menu. He & rest of the team was so attentive but not imperious, and were more than willing to make conversation at our call, and facilitated us throughout food-shoot.
I must commend the kitchen team and F&B section at Sheraton Jumeirah for maintaining all time those high standards when it comes to food freshness and accessibility along with availability of variety dishes and items. We had previously enjoyed an amazing themed buffet at hotel’s all day dining restaurant Palm Garden and were impressed by the quality. Similarly our experience at Ciao was not much of a difference, all the food from the appetizers, to the seafood linguini, to the salad, ricotta and instalata, were wonderful and very fresh.
It is not inexpensive, but it’s all worth it for a relaxed evening with a friend or buddy as you will be in your own slight haven of Italy with exquisiteness and idealistic interiors. Food wise at the same time you can enjoy some harmony and relish delicious Italian food, which is indeed an uncommon hit upon in UAE, as we find many claiming for Italian specialty but not all delivering the equal expected.
Ciao’s Chef Mirko Sernissi Italian he grew up in. His background includes a diploma from the “Istituto Professionale di Stato per L’Enogastronomia e l’Ospitalita Alberghiera Tor Carbone’ and a fast growing career across 5 star restaurants in Rome and Dublin. He brought this exciting culinary style to Ciao presenting the authentic Italian taste along with an innovative twist of Mediterranean senses. He quoted:

While dining at Ciao, we concentrated more on Starters and Antipasti, we tasted Linguini Ai Frutti Di Mare which is basically Linguini Pasta tossed in Roasted Garlic Oil, topped with mixed Seafood and Shellfish. I cherish the taste and seasoning, they just follow the basics and acquired complete balance while mixing up all ingredients as no flavor was over empowering other in this dish. Rotolo Ricotta Salmone e Spinaci which is our favorite started entirely home-made beautifully crafted and rolled lasagna sheets which literally was melting in mouth. It’s indeed an art in its own league how they arranged the layering of Salmon & Spinach and the creamy Velouté was a magical base to dive in. Antipasti Misti & Insalata Misticanza Con Pere Noci e Gorgonzola Dolcei-e Assortment of Garden Greens, Pears, Toasted Nuts and Sweet Gorgonzola had some surprise elements too instead of being available in most of the Italian restaurant what keep ciao in another capacity is the innovative ideas of presenting and arrangement of these traditional highlights where yet they keep the very original taste but make the items more interesting and appealing for diners to enjoy.In main course for myself I ordered Breaded chicken, which is a little salty for my palate , I guess due to crumbs however when I took few bites along with tomatoes and olives and salad leaves it actually savor very compact and entirely appetizing. Portion size was really munificent for individual intake, though we dint mind sharing. Hubby went for steak and requested them to be medium to well-done rare. What come was perfect juicy and tender and a perfect grilled steak. Then comes to perfectly sum up the whole tasting was the most artistic deserts, of custard pie and casada with candied fruits taste, it is not too sweet and certainly not heavy and finished off the whole affair on good note. We will certainly go back.
