We stumble upon this Italian cuisine restaurant last month as suggested by a friend a week back. Glad to share that we ended up at a reliable cost Italian food that surely echoed in our mind for long with delicate Italian flavors but a very diverse regional palate. Its pizzas are soft, gooey, crisp and fresh. Place is fabulous and not too crowded with so much décor, much decent and give terrace sort of a look to even otherwise food complex eatery. You may get ample of seats inside as well as outside, we would recommend to sit outside as their food taste even amazing in this weather and winters. (Blogger’s psyfoopathy i-e Psycho-food)
Open kitchens are always appreciated by us, since it bestows our trust in quality and provide a better prospect of getting an improved imminent of ingredients as well as the activities of chef and team. Idea was well taken by the owner and our kitchen tour was another great venture we had at the eatery as it’s very swift due to giant glass front presence which is even visible by the guest dining in hall. They not just guarantee you for clean, hygiene and safe environment but willingly offer you to view through the glass all the kitchen stories smell the aroma through the air.
Starter: Bread with Hummus was served. The hummus had a unique delicious taste. The rosemary that was used gave an Italian twist to an Arabic dish and the garlic and rosemary infused Oil added to its unique taste.
We had our Risotto plate arrive. Hubby (Kaby) being not a risotto fan I was in peace to finish over on my dish alone, however the strong aroma and flavor charisma could not hold him for much longer. As he took a bite of this creamy, consistent and texture-perfect Risotto al Funghi Porcini (Risotto with porcini mushrooms) there was no stopping. The place actually worth enough to compel him start scribbling his experience and became my co-blogger other than and Tech-analyst & Photographer already for Mahi Blog (graciously unpaid 😉
Worth trying that risotto in that case. I thank Tomato & Basilico team personally for that! Don’t you need to feel left out if vegetarian as they also have this option too. The only unlikable fact during our visit is Parking can be challenging to find on the same street unless you are lucky enough else it far away or in underground complex which is not always open for outsiders. In Pizza we tried TOMATO AND BASILICO – signature Pizza with cheesy, mild, utterly delicious taste. It is indeed a champion! The presentation of this pizza is just so striking and hence make it appealing! All burrata cheese lovers will love this one as the quality of their cheese is world-class. After sometime the burrata starts melting and dripping down creating these amazing pattern over cheesy base. Toppings are winner at this place.
We love the variety of Pizza flavors at this outlet, they serve explosively delicious pizza as per the residents! Precise, dainty and fluffy. It finished off fast as it has thin crust.
Our Antipasti appetizer was customized with Parmigiana di Melanzane i-e fried eggplant slices, mozzarella, tomato sauce, parmesan, basil with bresaola and rocket leaves and parmesan shaving. It also has mysterious tastiness of fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream Burrata. We also relish Polpettine al Pomodore i-e beef meatballs in spicy tomato sauce. It was hot and tangy in case you need mild spices in sauce make sure to mention while ordering the dish.
Lasagna with tomato sauce and beef ragout is another highlight of the evening with mozzarella, fresh cream and parmesan. I’d recommend this dish to other diners. It was my favorite, it’s not deceiving in fact looks a little sloppy but taste is surely to relish for and it individually satisfies our taste buds at higher scale. In Pasta we tried regular tortellini al funghi freschi with fresh mushrooms in creamy sauce. I love the seasoning and flavors blends. The serving might look small but trust me the portion is perfect! It’s not heavy, and it’s homemade! DRINKS – we ordered two fresh items. Pina Colada – A classic taste yet with the twist of cinnamon powder adding to its flavor and aroma. Mojito – with mint, lime and sprite and the pleasant sweetness as they use brown sugar in this drink. In mains we tried Beef fillet in green pepper sauce served with sautéed vegetables. Meat portion is very soft and cooked to perfection. We also tried Prawns sautéed in garlic infused sauce with minimal dressing and greater taste.
To cheer up kids we even take one away to home and it stayed very well inspite of long distance. It did not even get mushy as I was expecting due to thin crust, guess they have not pour in too much sauce which is good.
Chef has prepared a special dessert platter with a surprise element of customization for Mahi Blog it consists of TIRAMISU which tasted really good, home-made ‘nonna’ style cake and their famous homemade coffee and Nutella cake. On platter Tiramisu stole the show. It’s a perfect ending to most fulfilling meal. The staff is super friendly and helps a lot so it’s better to take their suggestions. Parking can only be an issue when visiting on weekends. You should not miss their latest attraction light and tasty, the deep fried calamari & shrimps. We guarantee you it will set the tone for a hearty meal! Furthermore, you may even customize or rather personalize your rigotini pasta with favorite sauce and toppings. I told you they go each bar to make your experience the most memorable and unique and that too each time. They get 4 over 5 on Mahi Blog Tastometer 🙂
