Brasserie Flo is a traditional French brasserie that serves some of the best-known French dishes in relaxed and casual ambiance. Venue stands for a culinary tradition that dates to the 1960s when it was founded by Chef Jean-Paul Bucher in Paris. Today, Chef Bucher’s undeniable talent has seen his signature culinary style carried across borders. In Abu Dhabi it is located at a luxurious and beautiful location in Venetian Village along with other famous restaurants Barfly, Olives by Todd English, Punjab Grill, Todd English’s Olive and Inakaya.
We had a pleasure dining out at this great venue last month and had tasted some delicious french food.
Food:
The complimentary bread basket that comes along generous butter portion has built a strong 1st impression. It came so fresh and in good quantity. We also tried passion fruit and strawberry mojitos. Next up was a very interesting and raw seafood platter with Lobster, half Crab, Mixed Shrimps, Oysters & Shellfish. It was served with lemon, shallot vinegar, mayonnaise, rye bread and butter.

I loved the Fresh Burrata version with Grilled Vegetables Provence Style. The loaf of bread (with visible grilled marks) was served along burrata. It was a unique and captivating concept. Next item was Caramelized Onion Soup, with Bread Gratinée. It was very subtle flavor and was rich in taste. This was my first ever try at Onion soup, and I was glad since the quality of broth was excellent and very luxurious with black pepper goodness.

Another most unique and different entrée I tried was Crispy Goat Cheese Pastilla filled with Dates & Nuts mix. The crispy parcel was glazed with honey and served with balsamic reduction & Baby Gem Salad. Good food indeed! It also has a Mediterranean touch. I liked the softness on cheese along with crunch from nuts being the perfect marriage of flavors in the mouth.
In meat portions we tried Half Baby Chicken with Croûtons Parmesan & the Grilled Striploin Steak, French Fries, Mixed Green Salad was served with few sauces. It was medium cooked, and the meat was not tough at all. I did not experience any unchewable bites or even the ones with lots of fat in it. In mains too everything was cooked to perfection.

From the seafood or steak, there is nothing that could go wrong in our order. As the chef is always around on the tables making sure everyone is as requested and we were enjoying the food. My fav dishes in all were the goat cheese pastry & steak, baby salad with the walnuts and dates was spot on! And the puff pastry meat in style is simply divine.
We tried many desserts ranging from Brasserie Flo Pavlova – Crunchy Meringue, Red Fruits, Mandarins, English Custard Froth, Mandarin Coulis to B.Flo take on Chocolate fondant – Trio of Chocolates Lava Cake Style, Crème Fraîche Ice Cream. Mystère des Bois- blackcurrant Frozen Soufflé, Vanilla Ice Cream, Meringue, Forest Berries to Profiteroles – Vanilla Ice Cream Stuffed Choux Pastries, Warm Chocolate Sauce. Overall their desserts were out of this world! The Profiteroles was perfect. And the Trio of Chocolates were divine. The Forest berries Frozen Soufflé would not really be something I would order elsewhere, but we were insisted by the chef to try out and oH bouy! we enjoyed it.

Setting & Ambiance:
It’s my favorite French restaurant in Abu Dhabi so far with a beautiful view. If you are looking for a French restaurant in the Capital, then B. Flo should be your first choice. The setup and location create a very romantic ambiance for this facility being located in Venetian village. With the food offers that kept us coming back for more and a creative menu, Brasserie Flo Abu Dhabi has affirmed itself as a unique restaurant in the capital’s dining landscape. The restaurant’s interior was nice.
The only downfall is the seating arrangement and the design of the place as it seems a little congested as soon as you enter however there is a unique seaside setting available outdoors.
Staff & Chef:
The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The service was top notch. Even the chef came to check on how we found the food on few occasions. Restaurant Manager was such a sport and been so active throughout the presentations and food rundown.
Verdict:
With its traditional French cuisine menu, this restaurant is really a hit for French people and for those who love authentic French food. Service is impeccable with great attention to details. Also, the view from the terrace is magnificent! Our visit was perfect with wonderful with desserts being the highlight at the end of a great meal. Mahiblog team was really impressed and will surely return.
