Fifth Street Café is conveniently located just adjacent, in fact, connected to a very pleasant shopping area called the World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi. It is called Fifth Street Café on account of its apt geographical pin and built on the same street in the Capital. This friendly neighborhood café is a deli concept and has indoor seating and a connected door entrance from within the mall itself. We decided to revisit this place after loving our previous encounter to this café upon receiving an invite from COURTYARD by Marriott.
Our senses were fully ignited with roasted coffee aromas as soon as we entered. With complimentary Wi-Fi and easily accessible power points, we were able to bring live coverage from the café itself last week. We tried their mouth-watering signature dishes and some home-baked gorgeous and full of sweet goodies. It is the perfect spot for some Moi and Me time i-e when you need to relax and have a cup of coffee. Plus, it is also ideal for celebrating any occasion, go out and about with friends, etc. Furthermore, this place is convenient in, either way, whether you’re eating in or taking away the food with generous servings, this eatery will surely satisfy your taste buds.
The food we ordered for Dinner did arrive pretty quickly; without further ado, we started munching on those spicy nachos which were actually not spicy at all. I loved the taste though with sour cream and freshly prepared guacamole. The food quality is quite good. Petite diced avocado and tomato in salsa added to the whole composition of the dish. As the avocado was a beautiful green color and just the right texture.
Caprese Salad we tasted consisted of Fresh Tomato, Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil Pesto and Balsamic reduction and was ideal for Italian food lover.
Kids enjoyed Mac & Cheese plus Spaghetti Bolognese, I simply could not resist myself and shamelessly took some spoonful of pasta deliciousness from my kids’ meal.
Another worth mentioning item was slowly braised beef cheeks finished with rich aromatic gravy, and big beef chunks served with dainty mushroom risotto.
We also tasted the corn-fed grilled chicken beautifully done in presentation however little lacking on seasoning, but the crushed potato and wild mushroom sauce with pieces of mushroom added were a great touch. I would just prefer it to be more seasoned with spices.
Another highlight of the evening was tenderloin, tender and juicy it was with perfect rear served with sautéed asparagus and two kinds of sauces.
Their bread they serve is also very fresh. There is a large choice of sandwiches, salads, wraps, and some soups. The portions were generous and if you want to challenge your hunger and take the dare, try their courtyard burger from specialty items. This gigantic patty of Angus beef with turkey bacon and cheddar cheese with fresh veggies will win your hearts by all means. The dill pickle and fries served in the side made it extra delicious.
We finished off the meal with their traditional Red Velvet (my all-time favorite and Oreo cake along with choco donut and a Cup of Cappuccino. My red velvet treat had undergone a change in the décor, but the taste remains as addictive as always. This ultimate hang out deli venue is idyllic for anyone looking to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, great food and a chilled out place to work.
