Their Burgers and Crazy shakes have taken social media by storm. I went into pure food comma (with taste buds indulgence) in mind. I not only Instagram my experience which was liked by all it but enjoyed it entirely with my family. Yes, we are talking about Black Tap, read my full review here…
AMBIANCE:
Vibes: Vibrant, chic, back to old school hip hop and pop. Black Tap is everything you would imagine decor wise, but thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows it somehow blends nicely with its neighbor eatery & outlets located in Cascade dining East of YAS Mall. It also provides an expansive outdoor seating area with a pretty open terrace setting. Which means you can enjoy a craft burger with unrivaled views of the water fountain and glowing lights.
CRAFTED BURGERS:
Their burgers were Crafty! First one we tried was The Texan, which comprises a prime burger (Black Tap Dubai serves Greater Omaha USA beef), aged cheddar cheese, crispy giant Onion ring over the top, beef bacon and Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, Heaven. Hubby had tried The Carolina with smokey pulled beef, buttermilk dill coleslaw and it was finished off by the Carolina BBQ. He liked it just like a dream, but I still rate their All American classic burger a little higher. It is a prime burger with lettuce, tomato, house-made pickles, American cheese, and special sauce. Make sure you have medium rare in place while ordering to enjoy the pink meat patty.
Crispy Chicken Sandwich is another excellent option for fried chicken lovers. It tantalizes your taste buds with its addictive flavor and squeeze of lime wedge over the crispy chicken patty. You may substitute onion rings, sweet potato fries, house salad or any side with regular ones. All 4 burgers hit it out of the park right from the start. Cooked perfectly to our liking and the fries were thick, warm and crispy. We paired our burgers with their refreshing, semi-sweet Passionfruit Lemonade served in a cute, rustic mason jar.
SNACKS & APPETIZERS:
We also sampled a few snacks and appetizers on the side. My favorite was onion rings, which were satisfactory, but kids enjoyed Tacos which we devour in three different flavors Beef, Chorizo & Fish, they were dainty and crisp. Oh by the way if you are health conscious or on guilt calories trip try their try their lettuce wraps Taco version.
The BLACK TAP spicy Korean BBQ chicken wings blew my mind literally . My kids were honestly craving them even afterward. Perfectly crispy, drenched in a delicious sauce and served with a buttermilk-dill dip. Oh, Divine! Our only gripe is that these should come with either a finger bowl or a wet wipe as they are super messy. But a must-order nonetheless. Trust us.
CRAZY SHAKES:
Black Tap’s signature CrazyShake milkshakes have reached worldwide acclaim with their whimsical and over the top decorations and flavors. These fantastic milkshakes that are part dessert, part art project made me go crazy. Believe me; your Cheat daydreams are made of this. Nostalgia took to the next level for the Instagram age Micro-Bloggers and Tech foodies. I literally feast my eyes upon their crazy shakes, and Mr. Kaby (Hubster) took few insanely-viral shake shots featuring these outrageous, ‘Crazy Shakes.’ it is no wonder Instagrammable foodie hub.
Sweet n’ Salty, Ah that Peanut Butter Shake with chocolate frosted rim with chocolate gems & PB cups topped with a sugar daddy, pretzel rods, chocolate covered pretzel, whipped cream & chocolate drizzle; Cotton Candy, yes, this strawberry shake was my choice and is easily one of the top three most indulgent desserts I have ever feasted upon, with no regrets. If Willy Wonka created milkshakes, these would be them. My husband loved his chocolate shake, the Brooklyn Blackout. Mini chocolate chips with chocolate brownie were like a double treat and were divine. We also tasted the Insta-famous Cake Shake (cake batter shake with a vanilla frosted rim, rainbow sprinkles, all topped with Funfetti cake slice, whipped cream, more rainbow sprinkles, and a cherry). However, it was too sweet for our liking.
The names are simplistic, but each shake is in a realm of its own. Me & Mr. K both agreed we would have them again, maybe in the summer when we come sans kids together again. No, we would not share! Overall we loved Black Tap. This newly opened cult New York burger joint in the Capital is known for its signature craft burgers and famous Instagrammable milkshakes and has undoubtedly impressed me for its taste, hospitality, and presentation all. Service was top-notch, waiters are so friendly and courteous. Overall food was so delicious, and shakes are so crazy, they call it crazy entirely for a reason, and I am eventually glad that I found a great burger joint.
